Where does all the white go when the snow melts?

hello friends! <3 
This morning, I am heading up to Mammoth, CA with my family and Aaron. This is the first vacation that I have ever brought a boyfriend along with! Although we are only going for a short five days, I'm so excited to see the snow. I have never been the best person when it comes to being cold, but snow is so beautiful. I also will attempt snowboarding again this year and hope not to make a joke out of myself. Its too early to be awake, and we are about to be snow bound on a long trip to mammoth.
